Acceptable Use Policy

1. Introduction

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the AlumniConnect platform (the "Platform"), operated by StaxxLogix ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"). This AUP is part of and incorporated into our Terms of Service.

By using the Platform, you agree to comply with this AUP. Violation of this AUP may result in suspension or termination of your account and access to the Platform.

2. Prohibited Conduct

You agree NOT to use the Platform to:

2.1 Illegal Activities

  • Violate any applicable federal, state, or local laws or regulations
  • Engage in fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading practices
  • Facilitate or promote illegal activities
  • Infringe on intellectual property rights of others
  • Engage in money laundering or terrorist financing

2.2 Harmful Content

  • Post, upload, or share content that is defamatory, obscene, pornographic, or sexually explicit
  • Share content that promotes violence, hatred, or discrimination
  • Post false, misleading, or deceptive information
  • Share content that harasses, threatens, or intimidates others
  • Distribute malware, viruses, or other harmful code

2.3 Abuse and Harassment

  • Harass, bully, or intimidate other users
  • Stalk or follow users in a manner that makes them uncomfortable
  • Send unsolicited promotional or spam messages
  • Impersonate another person or entity
  • Collect personal information about other users without their consent

2.4 Platform Abuse

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Platform or other users' accounts
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Platform's infrastructure or services
  • Use automated tools, bots, or scripts without authorization
  • Scrape, data mine, or extract data from the Platform without permission
  • Circumvent any security measures or access controls
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Platform
  • Create multiple accounts for fraudulent purposes

2.5 Event and Ticket Abuse

  • Create fraudulent or fake events
  • Scalp tickets or resell tickets above face value unless permitted
  • Use stolen payment information to purchase tickets
  • Create counterfeit tickets
  • Engage in ticket fraud or chargebacks
  • Manipulate ticket availability or pricing

3. Content Standards

All content you post on the Platform must:

  • Be accurate and not misleading
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Not infringe on any third-party rights
  • Be appropriate for a general audience
  • Not contain personal information of others without their consent

4. Event Organizer Responsibilities

Event organizers using the Platform agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete event information
  • Honor all ticket sales and commitments
  • Comply with all applicable laws, permits, and regulations
  • Maintain appropriate liability insurance for events
  • Provide safe and accessible event spaces
  • Communicate promptly with ticket holders about any changes or cancellations
  • Process refunds in accordance with their stated refund policy
  • Not discriminate against attendees based on protected characteristics

5. Venue Responsibilities

Venues registered on the Platform agree to:

  • Provide accurate venue information and capacity limits
  • Maintain proper licenses and permits
  • Ensure compliance with fire codes and safety regulations
  • Provide accessible accommodations as required by law
  • Not misrepresent venue amenities or conditions

6. Account Security Requirements

To protect the Platform and other users, you must:

  • Use a strong, unique password for your account
  • Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) as recommended
  • Not share your account credentials with others
  • Immediately report any unauthorized account access
  • Keep your contact information current
  • Log out from shared or public devices

Failure to maintain adequate account security may result in account suspension and loss of access to tickets or services. The Company is not responsible for any losses resulting from inadequate account security.

7. Reporting Violations

If you become aware of any violation of this AUP, please report it to us immediately at abuse@AlumniConnect. Include as much detail as possible, including:

  • Description of the violation
  • Username or profile of the violating party
  • Screenshots or evidence if available
  • Date and time of the incident

We will investigate all reports and take appropriate action. However, we are not obligated to disclose the results of any investigation.

8. Enforcement

We reserve the right to:

  • Remove any content that violates this AUP
  • Suspend or terminate accounts that violate this AUP
  • Block access to the Platform from certain IP addresses or devices
  • Report violations to law enforcement when appropriate
  • Take legal action against violators
  • Cooperate with law enforcement investigations

We may take any of these actions at our sole discretion, without prior notice. Decisions regarding enforcement are final.

9. Consequences of Violation

Violations of this AUP may result in:

  • Warning and required correction of the violation
  • Temporary suspension of account privileges
  • Permanent termination of account
  • Forfeiture of tickets and refunds
  • Legal action and pursuit of damages
  • Reporting to law enforcement

10. Appeals

If you believe your account was suspended or terminated in error, you may appeal by contacting us at appeals@AlumniConnect within 30 days of the action. Include:

  • Your account information
  • Explanation of why you believe the action was in error
  • Any evidence supporting your appeal

We will review appeals at our discretion. Our decision on appeals is final.

11. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify this AUP at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the Platform after any modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated AUP.

12. Governing Law

This AUP shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Nevada, United States of America. Any disputes arising from this AUP shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Clark County, Nevada.
